On Tuesday, 8th November 2011, 3 p. m. at the Exhibition Center C. Brancusi will take place the opening of the International Painting Biennial, Chisinau 2011, 2nd edition
The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, National Art Museum of Moldova, Union of Artists from Moldova, Culture Department of Chisinau Mayoralty and Art Center AMPRENTE (Imprints) in collaboration with Romanian Cultural Institute M. Eminescu and Sturza Family Foundation.
This year there participate top representatives of the artistic national and international community. There are 133 painters from 20 countries (Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine) with over 170 works exhibited on the cymae presenting a wide range of approaches from esthetical and human point of view.
The selected works characterize the present exhibition through professionalism, intelligence and stylistic actuality. The local artists proved the potential of our artistic environment within the international context. In order to direct the exhibition towards the undoubted values of the creative processes, there have been invited notorious artists: Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, Eleonora Romanescu (Moldova) , Gheorghe Anghel, Marin Gherasim, Paul Gherasim, Constantin Flondor, Horia Pastina (Romania), Wesley Acuña (Costa Rica), Nicole Callebaut (Belgium), Rinaldo Novalli (Italy), as well as reference names from our country like Elena Bontea, Dimitrie Peicev, Sergiu Cuciuc etc. Together with them many representatives of the young generation are exhibiting. Thus, the organizers are stressing their debut in the framework of such an ample event.
This year we have the participation of Costa Rican artist Wesley Acuña, as the representative of the Central American region.The prizes awarding ceremony will take place during the inauguration of the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open on 8-27 November 2011.
